Salorino, belonging to the province of Cáceres, with 538 inhabitants according to INE, now has access to ultrafast fiber from Asteo.
Salorino is known for its privileged geographical location, the endearing nature of its people, its hospitality, and the balance between tradition and modernity.
It is located 42 km from Portugal, and south of the Salor River, from which the town’s name originates. Historically, the first inhabitants of the town were Ro mans, and there are remains of what could have been a villa. We can also find anthropomorphic tombs and the Benfayán archaeological site. In the 18th century, the main resource was flour mills, which operated thanks to the flow of the Salor River.
The facades of Salorino, as can be seen in the images, have been transformed into murals that make the town more special and eye-catching, as well as its extensive calendar of festivities, which includes, among other celebrations, the May Day festival on May 1st and the Molinos Pilgrimage on the second Sunday of May.
