Rurix the first 100% rural fiber network platform
Asteo y Rede Aberta have launched Rurix the first neutral platform for fiber networks 100% focused on the rural environment, which will enable smaller networks to participate in the evolution of the market and wholesale models to optimize their commercial efforts and improve their profitability.
Rurix will enable smaller networks to participate in the evolution of the market and wholesale models to optimize their commercial efforts and improve profitability.
During the presentation, which took place at the XVII Aotec Fair, both companies explained the objective of the creation of Rurix to interconnect operators with networks, with a neutral, open and bidirectional model.
Rurix allows smaller local and rural operators, through a single commercial agreement, to become part of a network ecosystem that gives them access both to operate their own networks in a wholesale model and to expand their commercial activity in other networks and regions.
The platform was created with the aim of incorporating all rural operators interested in being part of it, as long as they comply with a series of technical requirements and quality standards in order to provide the best service to the end customer. The transmission network (backhaul) of Rurix backhaul network is mostly underground and is connected to the main data centers such as Equinix, Digital Reality (Interxion), Global Suites and other regional POPs. Rurix is powered by XGSPON technology.
