Summer is a good time to discover the charm of the small villages of Spain. We continue our route through the villages that make up Asteo’s ultrafast fiber optic network. Have you ever been to Coca, in the province of Segovia?
Coca is one of those small towns -with less than 2,000 residents- that preserves its charm and authenticity thanks to its cobblestone streets, its traditional houses and its festivities. August is the right time to enjoy the most emblematic celebrations, among its walls, churches and squares, such as the festival in honor of San Roque, which takes place every year on August 14 and 17, and the festivities to commemorate its patron saint, Santa María la Mayor de Coca, on the last weekend of August.
Discover the Asteo villages: Coca

Coca offers tradition, history, culture, nature, wine and gastronomy. You can start with a walk to discover the medieval wall that surrounds its historic center and reach its main square. The Coca Castle, which can be visited, offers the most emblematic images of this small Segovian municipality. It is a 15th century construction that represents one of the best examples of the Spanish Gothic-Mudejar style. The church of Santa María la Mayor is another treasure of its historic center. This jewel of the Mudejar style, built in the 15th century, combines Gothic and Mudejar elements in its architecture. Its imposing bell tower and beautiful façade will surprise you.
Tourism, along with agricultural, livestock and industrial activities, are the engine of the economy of Coca, a municipality that, despite the loss of inhabitants since 2010, strives to maintain its attractiveness and captivate visitors. It is undoubtedly a small town worth discovering and enjoying.
