Following the presentation of Telefónica’ s “Digital Society in Spain” report in Fuensaldaña (Valladolid), Pedro Abad, CEO of ASTEO Red Neutra, shared with the program “Está pasando”, of Radio Televisión de Castilla y León – RTVCyL, our vision on the importance of fiber optic coverage reaching all rural towns in the country, especially in Castilla y León and Extremadura. During his speech he also spoke about the need to “encourage citizens to choose between different options and service offers”. Likewise, María González Corral, Councilor for Mobility and Digital Transformation of Castilla y León, pointed out that we should all be committed to ensuring that “the use of new technologies reaches all citizens, all companies, everywhere”. However, as Raúl Mata Ajuria, delegate of La Razón in Castilla y León, pointed out, it is necessary that “the elderly, in such an aging population, know how to use them (new technologies)”. For his part, Agustín Prieto ex, secretary general of UGT Castilla y León, emphasized that “teleworking allows that in many areas of Castilla y León, far from the cities, if they have good coverage, people can live permanently in these municipalities”.
