The major village festivals usually take place in summer, a time when the number of inhabitants triples, or even more, thanks to the holiday period in July and August.

Villasandino, with 172 residents (INE 2022), is one of the towns in Burgos that is already part of Asteo’s ultrafast fiber network and is one of those small municipalities that will be celebrating in a few days. Specifically, from Thursday, July 13 to Sunday, July 16, when it will be celebrating “Las Fiestas del Carmen” in honor of its patron saint.

Friday, July 14 is a great time to see how this quiet village surrounded by natural landscapes recovers all its splendor and joy with the “chupinazo” and the ringing of bells that marks the beginning of the festivities of Carmen, which is completed with a particular parade of floats, a great barbecue and good music.

Do you need any other excuse to visit Villasandino (Burgos)?

This village is not only known for its festivities but also for its old Roman bridge, a perfect place to take a quiet walk and enjoy the views of the Odra river, as well as for its monumental church of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción.
