Ultrafast Fiber in Laguna Rodrigo

Connected Villages, General

Laguna Rodrigo is a town located in the Campiña Segoviana and the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, 36 km from Segovia. Laguna Rodrigo already has Asteo’s ultrafast fiber. Asteo.

Until 1969, it was an independent municipality before being integrated into Santa María la Real de Nieva. Founded in the 12th century after the capture of Toledo, the town arose from the union of three small settlements. In the fifteenth century, it prospered thanks to its proximity to an important mountain range, being built at this time the village church that is still preserved.

The 20th century brought a brief resurgence due to the agricultural revolution, but the decline returned as the need for labor diminished. Today, Laguna Rodrigo maintains its vitality with 40 inhabitants and new initiatives that revive the community.

The town celebrates its patron saint festivities in honor of the Santo Cristo de la Columna two months after Holy Tuesday, and the Exaltation of the Holy Cross on September 14, the name of the parish church. In August, a pilgrimage is organized to the hill of the Cabezuelas, accompanied by a cultural week. In February, the women of the town celebrate the Águedas, wearing traditional manteos in a colorful festivity.
