Optical fiber in Tardáguila

Connected Villages

Tardáguila already enjoys fiber optics from Asteo, a municipality located in the region of La Armuña, about 19 km from Salamanca capital. With a history dating back to at least the 13th century, the name of Tardáguila is historically cited as “Oterdaguila” in 1265 – “el otero del águila”- probably alluding to a high hill where eagles were sighted. This small rural municipality combines tranquility, agricultural tradition and a characteristic landscape of the cereal plateau.

Thanks to the deployment of our state-of-the-art fiber optic network, the residents of Tardáguila can now enjoy Asteo’s ultrafast fiber. This connectivity supports the digital development of households, small farms, remote workers and the local administration itself.

Tardáguila preserves heritage elements such as the church of San Pedro Advíncula and the old farmhouses of Arcillo and Espino-Arcillo, vestiges of its rural past linked to cereal agriculture. With the arrival of fiber, the municipality is moving towards a more connected future without renouncing its identity.
