Cepa 21: when rural connectivity drives innovation

General

In the new episode of the podcast Connecting RURAL to the World, Asteo CEO Pedro Abad speaks with José Moro, president of Cepa 21, a winery in Ribera del Duero that represents the perfect union between rural tradition and technological innovation.

Since his childhood in Pesquera de Duero, José Moro has experienced wine as part of his identity. With Cepa 21, he has successfully modernized that family legacy by applying tools such as artificial intelligence and soil microbiota analysis, demonstrating that technology can improve quality without losing the essence of the rural world.

During the interview, José highlighted the importance of connectivity in transforming the wine sector. In his municipality, Castrillo de Duero, Asteo has deployed a fiber optic network, enabling wineries like Cepa 21 to work efficiently, optimize their processes, and communicate with customers worldwide.

“I cannot imagine the rural world without Internet. Connectivity is essential to continue growing,” stated José Moro.

Stories like that of Cepa 21 reflect Asteo’s purpose: connecting the rural world to the digital world, driving economic development and innovation in every corner of Spain.
