Berrocal, a district connected to fiber

Connected Villages

Berrocala quiet hamlet of Turégano in Segovia, stands out for its valuable ethnographic heritage. The village is home to two cisterns and a small complex consisting of a mill, a forge and a horseshoe colt. The mill, located next to the Viejo river, has been partially restored and is communal property, allowing all the neighbors to grind their grain. The forge preserves its original tools, while the rack, with four granite pillars, was used to hold the animals during shoeing, protecting the blacksmith.

One of the most interesting places in Berrocal is the fountain of La Nava, located in a hidden spot between holm oaks, between Berrocal and La Cuesta. Local tradition has it that this fountain marked the uninhabited village of Caserones, where the water was corrupted during a wedding, causing the death of all the attendees except for one old woman who could not attend. The remains of ancient walls in the area seem to support this legend. Berrocal, with its rich history and traditions, offers a fascinating window into rural life in Segovia.

Its nearly 20 inhabitants have access to ultrafast Internet as they are part of the villages included in the Asteo network. If you are a local operator or you live in Berrocal and you want to enjoy Asteo’s ultrafast fiber, do not hesitate to contact us.
