General

Asteo Red Neutra has been selected among 56 European projects to receive funding under the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) Digital program, promoted by the European Commission through HADEA, the European Health and Digital Executive Agency. This program has allocated a total of €389 million for the deployment of next-generation digital infrastructures in Europe, and Asteo is one of the four Spanish companies to benefit.

With support of €6,500,000, the funding obtained by Asteo Red Neutra will contribute to the development of the Venus Spain – Portugal project and aims to strengthen the long-distance transmission network -backbone- designed through rural areas and facilitate the development of two new long-distance transmission routes, alternative to existing ones, equipped with cutting-edge technology that will connect Madrid and Portugal to guarantee the necessary connectivity capabilities between these two strategic areas for Europe.

The CEF-Digital program funds strategic projects at a European level in different areas, including the deployment of resilient digital networks, large-scale 5G pilots, and advanced technologies such as European quantum communication (EuroQCI). The program finances both feasibility studies and deployment projects across the European Union, accelerating digital transformation in key sectors.
