In the Salamanca municipality of Aldearrubia, digitalization not only comes through the #AsteoRedNeutra fiber network. Its City Council is promoting training in digital skills for its neighbors.
Free courses and digital skills training
The inhabitants of this town are receiving this summer free courses given by the consistory, on aspects such as digital identification, electronic notifications, digital signature of documents or electronic ID, among others.
According to data collected by the Asteo Observatory, 9 out of 10 (84%) residents in rural areas consider that “ digitalization should be an inclusive process that contributes to the sustainable development of the rural world. In addition, 40% of those surveyed acknowledge that they use these networks to carry out administrative procedures.
This training will allow companies, freelancers and individuals in Aldearrubia to improve their digital job skills, and to carry out procedures with the administration in a simpler and more agile way. As Yolanda Rueda, president of the Fundación Cibervoluntarios, says “many people have access to technology, but if they lack digital skills, this limits them when it comes to work, deal with the administration or boost their businesses”.
Aldearrubia is an eminently agricultural municipality with important companies dedicated to agriculture and cereals that already have Asteo’s ultrafast fiber to connect and boost their businesses. This connectivity will improve productivity and field management, through the multiple options now offered by the so-called “smart agriculture“.
It is considered that the name of this town includes the word “blonde” due to the color of its cereal fields and yellow ears of corn. But beyond its agricultural landscapes, the town has other tourist attractions, such as routes and trails in the areas of Teso Torrubio (over 870 meters above sea level) orTeso de las Canteras (over 880 meters above sea level), which make it a preferred destination in this summer season. Aldearrubia, with little more than 500 inhabitants is a village to discover.
