“Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”, that is Sustainable Development Goal No. 9. This “sustainable development goal” or “SDG” aims to “build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation<\/strong>“. <\/p>\n

As the UN points out on its website<\/a>, “inclusive and sustainable industrialization, together with innovation\"\" and infrastructure, can unleash the dynamic and competitive economic forces that generate employment and income<\/strong>. These play a key role in introducing and promoting new technologies, facilitating international trade and enabling the efficient use of resources.” Contributing to digitization is one of the key pillars for fostering innovation <\/strong>and one in which telecommunications infrastructures are major players. <\/p>\n

ASTEO Red Neutra<\/a> ‘s work is framed within this objective. Not only because fiber is the most sustainable<\/a> telecommunications infrastructure technology, but also because our purpose as a company is to connect rural populations and provide them with access to connections of equal or even better quality than in urban environments. To this end, we deploy state-of-the-art FTTH networks (XG-PON) in rural areas. <\/p>\n

What are the targets of SDG 9? <\/strong>In order to monitor progress, SDG 9 has 8 well-defined targets for 2030, which we will quickly mention:<\/p>\n

SDG 9.1:<\/strong> “Develop reliable, sustainable, resilient and quality infrastructure”.<\/p>\n

SDG 9.2:<\/strong> “Promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and, by 2030, significantly increase the contribution of industry to employment and gross domestic product.”<\/p>\n

SDG 9.3:<\/strong> Increase access of small industries and other businesses to financial services<\/p>\n

SDG 9.4:<\/strong> “Modernize infrastructure and convert industries to make them sustainable, using resources more efficiently and promoting the adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes.”<\/p>\n

SDG 9.5:<\/strong> “Enhance scientific research and technological capacity in industrial sectors”.<\/p>\n

SDG 9.a:<\/strong> “Facilitate the development of sustainable and resilient infrastructure in developing countries through enhanced financial, technological and technical support.”<\/p>\n

SDG 9.b:<\/strong> “Support the development of domestic technologies, research and innovation in developing countries”.<\/p>\n

SDG 9.c:<\/strong> “Significantly increase access to information and communications technology and strive to provide universal and affordable access to the Internet”.<\/p>\n

These are ambitious goals, as are all the targets set by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 17 Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong><\/a>but which will contribute to transforming our world into a better place by 2030, the deadline set for achieving them, and for which governments, institutions and companies have been working since 2015.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

What are these ambitious goals and how will they contribute to making our world a better place by 2030?
\nSustainable Development Goal No. 9 refers to “Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure”.
