To a large extent <strong><em>smart agriculture <\/em><\/strong>is possible thanks to the arrival of fiber optics to rural populations, since having high-speed, low-latency Internet in a rural community makes it possible to incorporate, for example, solutions for crop monitoring and process management on farms. <\/p>\n<p>According to smart farming solutions company <a href=\"https:\/\/ondo.io\/what_is_smart_agriculture\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ondo<\/a>, &#8220;farmers who use technologies for data collection, diagnostics and decision making see a 40% increase in crop yields. They can also save users up to 85% in water consumption and 50% in energy consumption.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h3>Some examples of intelligent agriculture, thanks to the use of new technologies, are<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-1232 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/asteo.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/smart-agriculture-canva-3-300x192.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"192\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To have technological tools for irrigation control and crop condition and\/or nutrition.<\/li>\n<li>Automated management of greenhouse temperature<\/li>\n<li>Incorporation of sensors for soil, light and temperature control<\/li>\n<li>Efficient water management (use and administration), moisture metering<\/li>\n<li>Use of tracking systems to aid in livestock traceability<\/li>\n<li>Management software linked to the processes, which also allows data collection.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In short, the IoT (Internet of Things) applied to agriculture.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, according to the company <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/mQ43PVW4fnU?t=78\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Advantech<\/a>, which uses LoRaWan solutions, &#8220;12% of farms worldwide use smart technologies&#8221; and their use is crucial for resource management and crop adaptation to the challenges of climate change.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Smart agriculture is the harnessing of new technologies to improve productivity and farm management.
